Grande Mosquée de Dakar

The mosque is considered an architectural landmark built in the Moroccan style, designed by a group of French and Moroccan architects, and integrated into the urban fabric of Dakar. Its single minaret rises to a height of 67 meters.

The mosque can accommodate 30,000 people and includes classrooms for teaching the Arabic language as well as dedicated spaces for women. The building also houses the headquarters of the Islamic Institute of Dakar, which was established in 1974 as a center for education and research in religious sciences.
