The headquarters of the Kenya Muslim Charitable Society (KMCS) is located in Nairobi, the capital, with five branch offices in other Kenyan cities: Mombasa, Garissa, Isiolo, Wajir, and Mandera.
It is registered as a charitable organization under the category of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in Kenya.
The society was founded by a group of professionals from northern Kenya in response to the lack of religious, cultural, developmental, and humanitarian services for the Muslim community, and the urgent need for such services in non-central regions of the country.
KMCS provides a variety of services to the community, including educational programs, dawah (Islamic outreach) services, healthcare, water and sanitation projects, as well as humanitarian activities and environmental preservation initiatives.
