Tete Yengi from Australia… From Curiosity to the Light
Australian footballer Tete Yengi entered a mosque in Adelaide out of curiosity. He simply wanted to see how Muslims pray and experience the atmosphere of a mosque for himself.
But sometimes, a person enters a place thinking it will be nothing more than a brief visit, only to leave with a heart completely transformed.
After the Friday prayer, he met the Islamic preacher Mufti Menk, and they had a short conversation about Islam and the Shahada (the testimonies of faith). His decision was not merely emotional or impulsive; it was the result of reflection, sincere searching, and a deep inner conviction that this was the truth.
In a moving moment, Tete Yengi declared the Shahada, opening a new chapter in his life.
Glory be to God... He entered the mosque searching for answers, and left with a heart at peace, saying:
"I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
